Collaterize takes legal, regulatory, risk, and compliance matters seriously. We make significant efforts to design our products in a manner that complies with the laws and regulations in the regions where we intend to conduct business. However, existing legal and regulatory regimes can often be ambiguous, leading to uncertainties about which actions to permit or prohibit and how to execute them in a practical manner, given the nature of DeFi. In situations of legal or regulatory ambiguity, or when the optimal way to comply with such regulations in a DeFi setting is uncertain, Collaterize consults with multiple legal and regulatory professionals and adopts a cautious approach.
To ensure strict risk and compliance coverage, Collaterize collaborates with major audit firms, financial and technology service providers. We connect with third-party service providers to offer a framework that supports trust and identity verifications, rules for investment and payment settlement and reversals, as well as a secure exchange of KYC & AML related information to meet all compliance requirements. Service providers in the fields of identity management, AML monitoring, and other compliance services are able to connect to Collaterize’s Service Provider framework. When different third-party service providers, account or wallet providers connect to Collaterize, it is essential that their infrastructure and services meet applicable compliance and regulatory requirements while using cryptography to secure PII and reduce the risk of PII leakage common to existing traditional finance and legacy payment networks.
Transparency & Disclosure
Collaterize is committed to ensuring that the standards for transparency and disclosure in on-chain finance meet or exceed those found in traditional finance. While we may choose to maintain certain proprietary aspects for competitive reasons, our focus is on prioritizing transparency with respect to our published products and protocols. When visiting the product page for any of our funds, detailed information is provided on all relevant aspects, including the strategy employed, the underlying portfolio composition, current portfolio pricing, historical performance and risk, as well as the results of periodic fund audits. On the technical side, Collaterize is transparent about the audit status of any material code. Furthermore, Collaterize and its related entities regularly undergo financial and information security audits, the results of which are shared with authorized requesting parties.
